Help Survivors Sleep Without Fear

Provide a Night of Shelter

Dear Supporter,

As many of us gathered to celebrate the holiday season, a family in our community faced a much different reality. Sarah endured years of physical and emotional abuse at the hands of her partner, escalating to an unbearable level last month.

Sarah made the difficult decision to escape with only her children by her side.

She arrived at the shelter, scared and unsure of the future. The holidays, often a time of joy and celebration, became a time of survival for Sarah and her family.

Thanks to your support, Sarah received open arms at the emergency shelter, where you provided her and her children with a warm, safe place to stay, emotional support, and counseling. While Sarah was able to escape her immediate danger, her journey toward healing is just beginning, and she still needs help rebuilding her life.

Your gift to provide a night of safety for a victim of domestic abuse is vital right now.

Sarah’s story is one of courage, but she is not alone. Sarah and her two kids join 27 adults and 60 children currently residing in the Family Crisis Center’s Safehouse and Transitional Housing. As we enter the new year, families need your help to ensure they can continue to receive the critical services that families in crisis need to start over.

Your donation will:

  • Provide safe shelter for survivors like Sarah and her children.
  • Fund counseling and trauma recovery programs to help families heal.
  • Support legal advocacy services to protect survivors’ rights.
  • Offer financial assistance to help survivors rebuild their lives after escaping abuse.

Your gift of $35 can ensure a night of shelter—a haven from fear and violence—for a single parent or child. Can I count on you to provide 1 night, 3 nights or maybe 5 nights of safety?

Our goal is to raise $200,000 by December 31st, 2025, to provide critically needed resources and shelter to families like Sarah’s. Please make a gift today. Your contribution will be a lifeline for families escaping abuse, not just during the holidays, but throughout the year.

Sarah and her children have taken the first brave steps toward a safer future but still need support as they navigate the many challenges ahead. You can help Sarah and others like her.

Thank you for standing with survivors like Sarah and being a source of hope in their darkest moments.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Whitney Burran
Executive Director
